Luna Lounge

The Luna Lounge renovation in New York is now complete. Lithos was invited to shape the stone surfaces throughout the project, working alongside the interior architects from the earliest concept stage. The brief called for a calm, structured environment with a clear material identity. Our role focused on defining the palette, refining the geometry of each surface and ensuring the stone supported the spatial rhythm of the interior.

Project overview

The project relies on a restrained selection of tonal stones, each chosen for proportion, movement and long term performance. Wide monolithic elements form the counters and bar volumes, while quieter stones frame circulation areas and seating zones. Every joint, edge and transition was considered in relation to light, distance and use. The intention was to create a space that felt grounded, understated and coherent from morning to late evening.

Collaboration

Our team collaborated closely with the architects both in Madrid and on site in New York. Early digital modelling established exact geometries, allowing the fabrication team to machine each element with precision. Installation required disciplined coordination due to the tight urban site and the lounge’s compact floor plan. The final surfaces integrate seamlessly with lighting, cabinetry and metalwork, giving the space a sense of calm continuity.

The Luna Lounge now reflects a balanced relationship between material and architecture. It functions as a quiet retreat within the city, shaped by proportion, daylight and the tactile presence of stone. For Lithos, the project represents the type of international collaboration we value, where design intent and craft meet with clarity and shared purpose.
